Attendance

Attending school every day is really important for a child’s learning. The best thing you can do for your child is to ensure that they arrive to school on time every day.

Missing a couple of days of school may not sound like much, but if that is repeated regularly, it can set students up to fall behind in achieving the basic skills they need to move on to more complicated work and make progress.

Once children start to fall behind they may want to stay at home because of the stress they’re feeling and the problem snowballs. The best thing you can do for your children is to ensure they get to school on time every day.

Even if your child does fall behind, by being at school every day we can provide them with the extra support they need to get them back to where they should be. Besides, we love to see their happy faces.

Beat the Bell

At Mahogany Rise Primary School, we love celebrating positive habits — and Beat the Bell is one of our favourite ways to encourage students to start the day on time and ready to learn!

Each day, classes record how many students arrive before the bell. These results are tallied at the end of the week and turned into a class attendance percentage. At the end of each term, the class with the highest on-time attendance wins a special class day out!

Our winning classes have enjoyed fun rewards such as trips to Funtopia, Gravity Zone, and Laser tag — what a fantastic way to celebrate teamwork, responsibility, and success!
